This group project, inspired by a MUJI brief, aimed to enhance the store’s offerings or redesign an aspect of the brand while staying true to its core values and aesthetics. Our goal was to improve a specific area of the MUJI experience while preserving its signature design philosophy—where products remain unbranded yet instantly recognisable through their simplicity, functionality, and understated elegance. Although not strictly minimalist, MUJI’s aesthetic is defined by clean lines, thoughtful design, and occasional pops of colour.

Drawing from MUJI’s furniture collection, we designed a space-efficient, interactive, and adaptable furniture piece. The concept encouraged users to collaborate and rearrange the modular elements to suit their needs, making it ideal for libraries, co-working spaces, and other communal environments.

The design process included sketches, mood boards, and a 3D-printed model reflecting MUJI’s aesthetic. We also created a catalogue showcasing our concept and final design.
